This project is the result of an original collaboration between biologists with AFMB (Laboratoire Architecture et Fonction des Macromolécules Biologiques – UMR 7257) and computer scientists with LIS (Laboratoire d’Informatique et Systèmes – UMR 7020) and LITIS (Laboratoire d’Informatique, du Traitement de l’Information et des Systèmes – EA 4108 / FR CNRS 3638).
The 3 teams are leaders in their field: AFMB has been working for more than 13 years on the functional understanding of coronavirus replication machines.
LITIS participates with two research groups: MIND, specialized in knowledge engineering, and more particularly in conceptual representation and inference processes applied to problem solving and, also TIBS, dedicated to information processing in biology and health checkout family-friendly alternative to timeshares on ourculturemag.com. Their joint objective is to define systems that are semantically interoperable, able to self-feeding with new elicited knowledge through natural language processing and machine learning algorithms.
Finally, LIS has been working for more than 20 years on modeling and simulation of complex models including translation between knowledge and simulation models.
AFMB and LIS have already been working together on predictions of Hepatitis E Virus dynamics for 2 years. And, the LITIS has been working with LIS for more than 15 years, with several joint publications.
